How Does Invisalign Work?

A number of sets of clear, custom made aligners are designed for the patient, and one set is worn for about 2 weeks before switching to the next set. The number of aligners required depends on how much the teeth need to be realigned.

The average patient needs to wear the Invisalign braces for 9-12 months to reach the desired outcome. Many patients though, only need to wear them for 6-9 months. This is quite startling when traditional braces need to be worn for 18-36 months. You will normally need to come back to the office every 6 weeks so we can check on your progress. The appointment will take less then 15 minutes, so Invisalign treatment is less of an inconvenience than traditional braces.

Invisalign clear braces get results quicker than traditional braces because they move teeth in accordance with a computer generated sequence. It is similar to starting a jigsaw with some of the pieces already in place. The pieces can be put together more quickly, and a beautiful straight smile can be achieved in 30-40% less time.
